WELCOME!
THIS
IS THE CORSA WEB SITE!

Corsa Ontario is a non-profit organization that is a registered chapter
of the Corvair
Society of America
(CORSA). Corsa Ontario was established in 1973 by Paul Allison
and John Corrigan with the intention of preserving and perpetuating interest
in the Corvair.
The
Corvair, or Vair as we like to call them,is the most radical Chevrolet
ever made. It has a rear mounted all aluminum air-cooledflat-six engine
and four wheel independent suspension. It is a car that was ahead of it'stime
and proved itself on the tracks and rally courses of the world. As advanced
as it wasit had a turbulent history that is often remembered by the negative
press it received as the target of Ralph Nader'sbook, "Unsafe At Any Speed".
Vair owners know that the bad press was undeserved and that this car is
the best car ever to come out of Detroit and Oshawa!

We Canadian
Corvair owners like to celebrate the fact that about 50,000 Vair's were
built at the GM assembly plant in Oshawa, Ontario from 1960 to 1966. Canadian
built cars can usually be found in more countries than the US made cars
because GM Canada supplied all the cars destined for European consumers.
Take a cruise through our web site to learn more about the club, the car
and the owners.
